Fishing channel cats 3-26-08 Tappan Lake

Post by tcba1987 on Wed Mar 26, 2008 8:04 pm

i took the kids (josh & jessica) and headed to the lake this evening to try for a few channel cats. fished from about 530 till 8 ...............we were using cut shad for bait on bottom and the fish were biting great. i ended up catching 5 channel cats...............josh landed 4 and jessica had 2.........all of the channel cats were between 12-17 inches long..........no real giants but they were alot of fun for me and the kids !!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Did you happen to check the water temp? I would like to try it up here but I think it still may be too cold. Anyways Thank You for the report and a good one!

sounds good a lot of times i just go by myself.seems like all my friends have small kids and other commitments alot.sucks to get old.i don't have kids but my g/f has 2 a 13 yr old girl and a 17 yr old son.(no wonder my hair is getting gray).between basketball football track and softball i don't have a lot of time but this year i am going to try to fish more.would you be interested in going to pike island for some eyes? i usually leave somewhere between 2am and 5am.that way you usually can get a spot on the pier.if the water comes down you can also get on the rocks
