Slaughtered the Bluegill
Yesterday (Sunday 15th) my uncle and I went out to a farm pond where we usually go to stock up for fish fries. The fishing was slow for just about everybody who were using rooster tails and grubs. I was using a Wayne's Jig, and I absolutly destroyed them all day, they were all good enough size to clean as well. I was fishing the jig with no tip on a slip bobber ranging in depths from about 2½' to about 4' later in the day.
I ended up with 30 fish total, 27 gills and 3 small bass. Heck of a lot of fun on my ultralight.
The catch of the day belonged to uncle Larry, a huge channel cat, caught on a minnow. I'd say it was probably about 8lbs. It may have been more than that, he catches more cats than I do, and said said it looked to be 9lbs. to him.
All in all a great day though!
Good fishin' everybody!
