Not really a fan of the higher barometric pressure we have now but that will change too. Looking forward to the rain next week!!!!! Supposed to be in the 50's and raining!!! This will turn them on FIRE

Heading to Racine now off the bank to get in on some hopefully good pre-frontal fishing! They're dropping the water there by 4' in about 4-5 hours from this posting. Could be hot before or after the water drop not sure what but I'm rolling the dice! Hoping to mash some eyes and possibly some big panfish near the hydro if the eyes don't cooperate.

Went three days straight fishing the evenings a couple of weekends ago during the last warm up. We managed about 25-35 saugers a night fishing from 5-9pm. Have gone a few times since the cool down and nothing. The technique was pearl or milk salt/pepper colored 3" twister tails on 1/16 and 1/8 oz jigs any color. Tipped the jig/twister combo with a minnow riding piggyback. The retrieve was painstakingly slow almost not moving. Don't even use your reel handle for this one. Just a super slow ...

Springtime Ohio River Sauger and Hybrid Striped Bass

Warming water temperatures and stable water levels have provided great angling opportunities for sauger and hybrid striped bass on the Ohio River. Both sportfish can be found in all pools of the Ohio River and are often the first sportfish to “come alive” in the spring. Some of the better areas to try for sauger or hybrid striped bass are below any of the locks and dams that are located in Ohio. There are nine such facilities along the ...

Actually i was down the Sunday before and it was flooded and only caught dinks. On 4-10 the river had dropped maybe 9 feet and was much more fishable. Of corse it was a shoulda been here yesterday thing i come to find out. Still this is one of the best hybrids i've gotten to date.

1/4 oz pearl/pink head, 3 inch sassy shad in pearl, med. fast retrieve, right near the mouth of the river. I also caught a couple dozen white bass.
