I may have to catch some bluegill and crappie before the flathead start. After that they become bait gathering devices I also spooled 2 channel cat reels. I got some #1 kahle hooks snelled on to see how I like them for channel cats. I got new line for my flathead reels. Its still early but I will get ready. I'd like to find this flathead again. I sight fished 90% of my fish as they were only a foot or so under the ice. It was pretty cool seeing the decent crappie hit it. My dad didnt catch any crappie, but spanked the gillys too. Two of us got on the spot late and did not get a morning fish so we packed up and went to Dream Bridge and cheesed the area in front of the bridge as well as against the pylons. No marks so we headed back to Blackhawk. We scrapped a jumbo perch and an eye on a spot that no one had been on but only a hundred yards from where they had been elbow to elbow.
