Re: i'm not happy
If you can see the fish on the beds take a whole night crawler on just a plain size 2 hook drop it in the bed and let it sit and try and get it to squirm then the bass will pick it up to get it out of the bed when it gets the worm in its mouth SET THE HOOK
BE SURE TO RELEASE IT ASAP

Re: i'm not happy
Any guesses when they will be done spawning? I get too frustrated trying to catch them this time of year. I guess they don't want to be bothered when they are "gettin busy".
Re: i'm not happy
i think the reason i'm not getting any bites is the spawn is still going on
guess when the spawing is done they'll be more active

Re: i'm not happy
I usually leave them on the beds to protect the eggs from other predators. It may be flawed logic, but I've always assumed that more bass babies = better future bass population. There are plenty of other fish in the sea (i.e. - walleye, crappie, etc.) to be caught this time of year. I'm thinking of heading back out to CJ this Sat. morning to try for more WB/Walleye. Are you going to be out there this weekend OFisher?
Re: i'm not happy
Yea I figure a public lakes if you don't take them off the beds someone else will
pm sent
Re: i'm not happy
I just do my part. I've heard that they go right back to the beds if you throw them back, but I just leave them be for a while. But once they are done "taking care of business", it's on like donkey kong!
Re: i'm not happy
They should be done spawing by now, but when the Bass are bedding they absolutely EAT plastic lizards! Toss it past the bed, reel it near the bed and shake the living heck out of it!!! They will eat it. And for the love of all things, put bedding Bass back ASAP!!!!!! Catching them won't hurt them, but leaving them out of the water and away from there bed will affect the Bass Population, if the Gills get to the fry!
